Energetic balance

The Energy Balance of Rio Grande do Sul – BERS is the most traditional document of the energy sector in Rio Grande do Sul. It divulges, through extensive research, all accounting relating to the supply and consumption of energy in the State, covering activities and operations linked to the exploration and production of primary energy resources, conversion into secondary forms, import and export accounts, distribution and final use of energy.

The BERS is of fundamental importance for the planning and monitoring activities of the energy sector in Rio Grande do Sul. This document brings together the historical series of the various operations related to the supply and demand of different energy sources, in addition to information on reserves, installed capacities and important data from the State, obtained from companies, agencies, institutions and sectoral entities.

The BERS is prepared and released annually, being one of the main sources of information and research of statistical and energy data referring to the State. The document contains data on annual energy supply and demand, among other relevant information.

BERS 2015 maintains the technical quality of the works previously carried out and adopts the methodology used in the National Energy Balance - BEN.
