Biomass Atlas

The geophysical characteristics and emphasis on the agribusiness sector contribute to Rio Grande do Sul’s high potential for biogas and bio-methane production. Aiming to expand the supply of energy and fuel from this clean and renewable energy source, the Department of Mines and Energy and Sulgas, based on a technical survey conducted by Univates University Center, prepared the state’s Biomass Atlas (Atlas das Biomassas), a broad study on the potential regions for biogas and bio-methane production in Rio Grande do Sul.
