State Program of Agro-industrial System of Bovine, Sheep and Buffalo Meat

The State Program of Development, Coordination and Quality of the Agro-industrial System of Bovine, Sheep and Buffalo Meat (Programa Estadual de Desenvolvimento, Coordenação e Qualidade do Sistema Agroindustrial da Carne de Gado Vacum, Ovino e Bufalino – Agregar–RS Carnes) was created with the purpose of increasing livestock slaughter under official health inspection and, consequently, the development and competitiveness of the meat production chain. It seeks to promote technical and financial measures aimed to the modernization of the state’s meat sector.

The companies eligible for credits under Agregar-RS Carnes are granted a presumed tax credit of 3.6% on the value of the sales invoice of animals purchased from Rio Grande do Sul’s farmers and a special benefit consisting in a presumed tax credit of 4% on the value of the invoice in inner transactions resulting from sale or transfer to a establishment of the same company of meat and edible products originated from the slaughter of bovines, sheep or buffaloes. The presumed tax credit is reduced to 3% if the referred products are not packaged in cuts, according to instructions issued by the State Revenue Department.
